Isorubber FR is an acoustic insulation available in a standard 3mm thickness with others sizes available to order, but only the 3mm version falls under the Robust Detail scheme.
It is adhered to a floor surface, absorbing impact sound and vibration at source. It is an incredibly durable acoustic underlay with added fire retardant.
It is tested in accordance with EN 13501-01 to achieve a Reaction to Fire rating of Cfl. This means that it is classed as flame retardant and has limited contribution to fire which goes beyond the normal requirements of an acoustic covering. Isorubber FR provides an extremely cost effective method of achieving Approved Document Part E compliance when carrying out pre-completion testing or working to Robust Details.
Isorubber FR is very easy to install and is suitable for use with many types of hard and soft floor coverings including carpet, hardwood and vinyl.
Service temp. range -30°C to +80°C
Elongation at Break 20%
Tensile Strength 0.3N/mm2
Ozone Depletion Potential Zero

Robust Detail E-FC-9 is a fixed, resilient surface layer acoustic insulation system for precast plank floors.
The system consists of 3mm thick Isorubber Top or Isorubber FR adhered to the screeded surface of a Precast Plank floor using Isobond Adhesive and an MF Ceiling below.
This construction can also be pre-completion tested to achieve BREEAM credits.
Robust Detail E-FC-10 is a fixed, resilient surface layer acoustic insulation system for solid insitu floors. The system consists of 3mm thick Isorubber Top or Isorubber FR adhered to the screeded or power floated surface of a solid insitu floor using Isobond Adhesive and an MF Ceiling below.
E-FC-10 provides 3 Code for Sustainable Homes Credits upon registration.
These credits are also applicable under the BREEAM multi-residential category, pre-completion testing is required for other BREEAM categories.
Approved Document Part E Compliance
Isorubber FR can be fitted over minimum 65mm sand & cement screeds, minimum 40mm proprietary screeds, power floated concrete surfaces or levelling compounds.
The structural floor must be a minimum mass of 300Kg/m2 per unit area. Compliance can be achieved with all masonry external flanking wall constructions (600 – 800Kg/m3, 1350 – 1600Kg/m3 & 1850 – 2300Kg/m3).
A metal frame ceiling with a minimum void of 100mm or an Isosonic acoustic ceiling is also required. Both ceiling details are under drawn with a layer of gypsum based board (minimum 8Kg/m2).
Mineral wool can be included in the ceiling void to improve test results, this is recommended in beam & block constructions, as they have a lower mass than pre-cast plank and in-situ concrete floors.
