Thermal Economics sees a growing demand for TE Platinum Ground Floor

2018 has already been a bumper year for TE Platinum Ground Floor insulation with a 21% increase in sales since January. Demand has been high, but the customer needs have continued to been met; with some deliveries going straight from factory to site to ensure that build deadlines are met.

TE Platinum Ground Floor insulation is a graphite enhanced EPS board that provides an extremely cost effective alternative to PUR/PIR boards. With over 5 million m2 installed across the UK, it is one of the leading Thermal Economics product brands for 2018.

Adrian Mainwaring, Supply Chain Manager explains, “We’ve gained a number of new customers this year who continue to return now that they are aware of the benefits that can be gained by this product as well as being able to rely on us as a supplier. It’s been a busy year, but we have been able to maintain decent lead times to support our customers.”

TE Platinum Ground Floor can be used in domestic and commercial applications and is available in two grades: EPS70 and EPS100 depending on the compressive strength requirements of the product.

It is a BBA certificated product for use with insitu concrete, beam & block ground floors, beam and insulated block floors, timber floors, floating floors/existing floors and edge insulation. As well as providing significant savings when compared to alternatives such as PUR and PIR insulation boards, it also achieves equivalent thermal performance.

With a BRE Green Guide A+ rating TE Platinum Ground Floor insulation has excellent environmental credentials. It is 100% recyclable, has a Global Warming Potential of less than 5 and an Ozone Depletion Potential of Zero. It is an extremely stable material, containing no CFCs, HFCs or HCFCs.

Matt Tiller, Head of Technical Services concludes, “Our customers are looking to achieve high thermal performance in their builds. The thermal performance of our EPS product does not degrade over time meaning that it will last the lifetime of any building where it is correctly installed. Due to the shortage of PIR insulation, builders have looked to other options in the market and not only found a great alternative but also identified the cost savings that can also be achieved, making EPS insulation an obvious choice.”
