‘SAP’ (Standard Assessment Procedure) is the UK government’s method of assessing the energy performance of a dwelling. These assessments are required to demonstrate compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations in England and Wales, and Section 6 of the Scottish Building Standards.
A SAP assessment takes many aspects of the building into account, from the types of insulation used to the size and type of windows, and even the make and model of boiler. Our experienced team of qualified assessors have in-depth knowledge of SAP and are on hand to help you achieve the energy performance that your dwelling needs in the most cost effective way possible. Once the assessment is complete an Energy Performance Certificate (or EPC) is provided for the dwelling, along with a copy of the SAP worksheets that are required for Building Control sign off. Whilst mandatory for Building Regulations, ensuring these calculations are carried out early in the development allows us to also identify possible costs savings that can be made in the project.
