We’re proud to announce that Alreflex ZebraFloor and ZebraFloor Eco have officially received third-party verification from the British Board of Agrément (BBA). On 17th June 2025, at the BBA headquarters in Watford, Hardy Giesler awarded Thermal Economics the BBA Agrément Certificate – a significant endorsement of the ZebraFloor system’s quality and performance.
What Is ZebraFloor?
The ZebraFloor system is an innovative solution designed to enhance the thermal performance of beam-and-block ground floors and speed up installation without increasing floor depth. By replacing traditional concrete block infill with ZebraFloor infill boards, the system significantly improves U-values. The ZebraFloor Topsheet is fitted over the insulated subfloor, this is available in various thicknesses to ensure that target U-value can be achieved and there is no risk of thermal bridging.

The Certification Journey
Achieving BBA certification involved a comprehensive audit of our manufacturing and supply processes. During their visit to our factories, the BBA verified that our Quality Plan ensures consistent product performance – whether the boards are produced today or in the future.
The BBA also conducted an extensive technical assessment, including:
- Condensation risk analysis
- Thermal bridging evaluation
- Finite element analysis for structural performance
Following this rigorous process, the BBA confirmed that ZebraFloor complies with building regulations across England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, and meets the standards outlined in the NHBC Standards 2025.
