Isorubber Base

Isorubber Base is an acoustic isolation and vibration reduction mat. It is primarily used in concrete and timber floor systems to achieve Approved Document Part E compliance, but can also be used in general sound proofing and noise reduction applications. It is also the main acoustic component of the Robust Detail E-FC-4 and E-FC-14 constructions.

Main Applicaitons

Robust Detail E-FC-4Robust Detail E-FC-4 is an under screed acoustic insulation system for precast plank floors. It consists of Isorubber Base resilient acoustic insulation below a sand & cement or flow screed with Isoedge 6/260 perimeter separation strip and a Metal Frame or Isosonic acoustic ceiling treatment. This construction can also be pre-completion tested to achieve BREEAM credits.

Robust Detail E-FC-14Robust Detail E-FC-14 is an under screed acoustic insulation system for precast plank floors. E-FC-14 is the first under screed solution to provide 3 Code for Sustainable Homes Credits upon registration. These credits are also applicable under the BREEAM multi-residential category, pre-completion testing is required for other BREEAM categories. E-FC-14 consists of Isorubber Code resilient acoustic insulation below a sand & cement or flow screed with Isoedge 6/260 perimeter separation strip and a Metal Frame ceiling supported on Isosonic Ceiling Cleats or an Isosonic Ceiling treatment.

Robust Detail E-FC-18Robust Detail E-FC-18 is an under screed acoustic insulation system for insitu concrete floors that is ideal for multi storey projects. It consists of a resilient acoustic insulation below a sand & cement or flow screed with a perimeter separation strip and a Metal Frame ceiling treatment.

This Robust Detail provides a choice of proprietary under screed acoustic insulations that can be used including Isorubber Base. It also allows for party walls to be built off the structural slab, without the need for pre-completion testing.

Isosonic Timber FloorThe Isosonic Timber Floor System provides excellent acoustic results in new build and refurbishment applications. It consists of Isorubber Base resilient acoustic insulation on a structural timber deck with mineral wool between the joists and an Isosonic acoustic ceiling treatment.

Isosonic BasefloorThe Isosonic Basefloor system is an under screed acoustic insulation and ceiling treatment for precast plank, in-situ concrete, steel composite and beam & block floors for use in new-build and refurbishment applications. It consists of Isorubber Base resilient acoustic insulation below a sand & cement or flow screed with Isoedge 6/260 perimeter separation strip and a Metal Frame or Isosonic acoustic ceiling treatment. These constructions can also be pre-completion tested to achieve BREEAM credits.

Isosonic Timber ConversionsThe Isosonic Timber Conversion Systems provide a range of solutions to suit most acoustic refurbishment applications. They consist of various overlay products, including Isorubber Base resilient acoustic insulation, over existing timber floor structures. All of the timber conversion systems incorporate mineral wool between the joists and an Isosonic acoustic ceiling or resilient bar ceiling treatment below.

More About this Product

Isorubber Base is a 6mm thick acoustic insulation and vibration reducing mat that can be laid beneath a screed or timber floating floor to reduce impact sound and vibration transmission to assist in sound proofing applications. A very durable product with a density of approximately 635Kg/m3, Isorubber Base does not suffer from any deterioration of acoustic performance during the normal lifespan of a building. This is because it undergoes virtually no short term deformation or long term creep deformation under normal domestic loads.

With a recycled content in excess of 90% waste rubber, a Global Warming Potential of Zero and an Ozone Depletion Potential of Zero Isorubber Base provides a means of using problematic waste material to the benefit of the environment.
