Botanical Place mixed use development

Botanical Place mixed use development

The importance of product compatibility

The Higgins Homes Botanical Place retirement village development consisted of 197 apartments above shops and restaurants. The concrete floor construction required an acoustic covering so that it would meet the requirements of Approved Doc. Part E, but with numerous types of floor finish being used it was important to find the right product.

Doug Frazer, Thermal Economics South East Sales Manager, worked with the flooring contractor to specify 15,000m2 of Isorubber Top, as it is compatible with the Amtico LVT, timber, carpet, and ceramic tiles that were being used on this project. The use of a single acoustic product across all of the floor area meant that installation was fast and simple, minimising complexity and time on site.

Isorubber Top has the added benefit of being main acoustic component in Robust Details E-FC-9 and E-FC-10, the latter of which automatically awards 3 BREEAM multi residential credits upon registration.
