Thermal Economics provide a range of wall ties and retaining discs specifically designed for use the Alreflex range of thermal insulation products. The details given on this page are for the most popular construction types and the information shown is only intended as a guide, please refer to PD 6697: 2010 and BS EN 1991-1-4: 2005 for further information.

ITB Wall ties

The ITB range of wall ties is designed for use with the Alreflex 1L1, Alreflex Platinum and Alreflex Ultratherm products. These ties include a unique down stand that allows the tie to be located quickly and easily, meaning that the installation is right first time, every time.

ITB4 ties are PD 6697 Type 4 ties and are suitable for use in cavity wall constructions up to 10m. They are available in three sizes that can be used in cavities ranging from 60 – 125mm. Acoustically classified as a Type A, ITB4 ties are suitable for separating (party) and external walls.

ITB2 ties are PD 6697 Type 2 ties and are suitable for use in cavity wall constructions up to 15m. They are available in two sizes that can be used in cavities ranging from 60 – 100mm. Acoustically classified as a Type B, ITB2 ties are only suitable for external walls.

ITC Wall ties

The ITC range of wall ties is designed exclusively for use with the Alreflex 2L2. These ties include a unique spacing loop and a down stand. The spacing loop ensures that the Alreflex 2L2 is correctly spaced 25mm from the inner leaf. The down stand allows the tie to be located quickly and easily, meaning that the installation is right first time, every time.

ITC4 ties are PD 6697 Type 4 ties and are suitable for use in cavity wall constructions up to 10m. They are available in three sizes that can be used in cavities ranging from 60 – 125mm. Acoustically classified as a Type A, ITC4 ties are suitable for separating (party) and external walls.

ITC2 ties are PD 6697 Type 2 ties and are suitable for use in cavity wall constructions up to 15m. They are available in three sizes that can be used in cavities ranging from 60 – 125mm. Acoustically classified as a Type B, ITC2 ties are only suitable for external walls.

WT1 Wall ties

The WT1 wall ties can be used with the Alreflex 1L1, Alreflex 2L2, Alreflex Platinum and Alreflex Ultratherm products. These are heavy duty ties designed for building over 15m in height or in areas of increased wind load.

WT1 ties are PD 6697 Type 1 ties and are suitable for use in cavity wall constructions of any height subject to an engineer’s report. They are available in three sizes that can be used in cavities ranging from 60 – 125mm. Acoustically classified as a Type B, WT1 ties are only suitable for external walls.

Retaining Discs

Retaining discs can be fitted to our wall ties to position and secure the cavity wall insulation correctly. AB Retaining Discs are designed for use with the ITB and ITC ranges of wall ties and suit all types of insulation. Universal Retaining Discs are designed for use with the WT1 range of wall ties and suit all types of insulation. If using Alreflex 2L2 with a WT1 wall tie a Spider Clip or spacer cup is also required to space the insulation 25mm from the inner leaf.
